Limassol, Kourion and Kolossi from Paphos

Kourion, Kolossi Castle and Limassol form a logical eastbound day from Paphos. The route moves from a large archaeological site to a compact medieval fortress and then a modern seafront city. It works because the stops contrast; it becomes tiring when every stop is treated as a full visit.

Kourion deserves the morning

Kourion is the main reason to take this route. Its Greco-Roman theatre, mosaics and remains stand high above the coast. What Limassol adds

Limassol gives the day an urban finish: old-town streets, marina or seafront time depending on the itinerary. Free time is usually enough for a walk or lunch, not a complete city tour. If Limassol itself is your priority, travel there directly and leave Kourion for another day.
