Turtle Watching and Snorkelling in Paphos: Which Trip to Choose
Updated October 8, 2026 · 4 min read
Off Paphos there are two ways to see turtles: a small-group snorkelling tour where the animal is the goal, and boat trips where the turtle search is one part among several. Either way you meet wild animals, not a zoo exhibit.
The snorkelling tour
The snorkelling tour with sea scooters and turtle watching costs €60 per person and lasts 3 to 4 hours. According to the operator’s description it is a small-group tour with a guide: you snorkel with a sea scooter in clear water, look for turtles in their natural habitat, and turtle photos are included free. The tour has over 1,000 reviews at 4.7 stars. Whether there is a minimum age or a swimming requirement is not in the description; ask before you pay.
The boat trips
Two trips last 2 hours each: the sunset cruise with turtle watching at €36 with a 20-minute swim stop and the swim cruise with turtle watching and Aperol with a 30-minute swim stop at Atlantis Beach. Both combine the turtle search with the Vera K shipwreck. Time in the water is a stop here, not the main activity.
The honest recommendation
Book the snorkelling tour from €60 if snorkelling should be the main activity. A sighting is possible, never promised: the operator describes watching wild animals. Ask before paying about swimming level, equipment and sea conditions. If you mainly want sea, sun and a chance of a turtle, the boat trip from €36 is the easier route. Keep your distance from the animals.
